Configuring OBS to Work with Stream Guard

Set up OBS Studio to send your stream through Stream Guard for buffer protection.

Step-by-step guide

  1. 1Open OBS Studio and go to Settings > Stream
  2. 2Set Service to 'Custom' and Server to rtmp://localhost
  3. 3Enter your stream key (same key you use for YouTube/Twitch)
  4. 4In Stream Guard, set your destination RTMP URL (e.g., rtmp://a.rtmp.youtube.com/live2)
  5. 5Set your buffer capacity (default 5 minutes on Free)
  6. 6Click 'Start Streaming' in OBS — Stream Guard will relay to your platform
